FAQS

OVERVIEW - These 3 hour intro courses are designed to give you a taste of building with earth. It’s a chance for you to get your hands in the mud and work on a real structure, ask questions and have some fun. You should come away with a general understanding of how accessible building with earth is! Afterward you can jump in the sauna with a refreshing beverage and spend some time in the woods if you want!

SAUNA & HOLISTIC BODYWORK - Yeah that’s right. There’s a sauna and it will be fired up and ready to go at the end of each building session. In addition to the sauna - there will be a sign up sheet for on site massage and facials if you want to spend a relaxing day at Aldercrest after your build. A message from Kim our hostess at Aldercrest, “I have been an LMT and esthetician for 15 years and I look forward to helping out some tired souls at the end of the day! “ We can attest that she is amazing! You can find her services and fees at aldercrest.net

ABOUT THE SITE - Aldercrest is located on a wooded, park like acre in Milwaukie, Oregon just outside of Portland. There are about a million river swimming spots just a stones throw away. Kim, our hostess, will be on site with recommendations should you want any.

TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING - The property for the build site has no off street parking. The driveway is a steep horse shoe. Parking is limited. We strongly encourage carpooling, scheduling drop offs, or public transportation. The site is about half a mile from the MAX station. However, we would gently encourage you to perhaps take a Lyft from there as the walk to the site has no sidewalks.
